New A7III - First charge - how long does information technology take?
Hi there,
so I only unboxed my A7III and beginning thing I did was to put the bombardment in to offset charging it. The battery had virtually zero charge then I tin't format a retention carte even so (until the battery has enough charge). I know this applies to all Sony cameras but any thought how long the kickoff charge of the battery might have?
The battery indicator has been lit orangish with the diagonal line through information technology for an 60 minutes and so far - there doesn't seem to be whatsoever progress in the bombardment icon. The 'attached to ability' icon is lit so its definitely plugged in and charging. Simply desire to check if this seems normal. Bombardment is Sony NP-FZ100.

Turn the camera off for a proficient xxx mins+ then you should be able to format the card.
mine took about ii hours to fully charge via USB-C while the camera was off.

Mine took about three.five hrs on an external charger.
I had bought an extra battery and external charger a few weeks earlier, and then I used the external charger.

It takes about 150 minutes to charge from 0 accuse.

thanks for the replies - I ordered an second battery just they were out of stock so they are sending later (and I also take a dual battery external charger coming).

I did buy a couple of third party chargers and they both take up to v hours to charge my batteries. The Sony charger is much faster. The brand proper noun is DSTE Travel Charger for the third political party version.

Indeed, by switching the camera off for nearly 35+ minutes while plugged in I was and then able to power it on and format the menu. I plugged information technology in with my MacBook Pro'southward USB C power brick and it did not take advantage of USB fast charging. As Sony states, if you use a USB C power source information technology is no faster than the micro USB charger. Bit of shame really. I can charge my iPhone X in no time with the MacBook charger...
Since I had the camera plugged into the MacBook charger I was able to walk effectually a bit and exercise some quick test shots at to the lowest degree (of the cat of course) but as stated here, because the photographic camera was on it stopped charging. I'm going to exit information technology charging overnight.
One point - those flimsy doors for the cables - non exactly user friendly or in a good place are they - sheesh!

Very helpful! I've had good luck with DSTE batteries in my A7/A7II bodies - anyone have whatever meliorate luck with non-Sony chargers?
