What type of budget are you looking at and what will you lot exist taking pictures of?

I accept used over 30 different cameras (including my friends) on OS Ten, i can not remember the last time i had a trouble. They all tend to just work, i would rather look at the specs of the camera and not worry about Os X .

Especially if yous are going to use the built-in card reader

If you lot buy a wireless retentivity carte du jour, you lot don't need a card reader or cable to transfer pics to your Mac.

Sony still uses memory sticks, just they are great cameras. Yous just take to employ the string to transfer pics or utilise an external reader but they transfer no problem. I actually have never removed a memory card from my cameras to read information technology- I just employ the cable when I get abode.

Like others said almost all cameras piece of work well with OSX.

The thing yous will need to brand sure is that the video the camera takes is in a format that either iPhoto or iMovie will work with. One time you narrow it downwards to a camera or three practise more research looking for compatibility info. If you lot are going to edit the video then of form iMovie. My older Sony takes video and it imports into iPhoto and I view it from in that location using Quick time.

I would highly recommend getting one with a rechargable battery pack and buying an extra battery pack. In the long run y'all will save coin on batteries. At the very least go rechargeable batteries for it. Enloop or the Rayovac precharged batteries are great. Rayovac merely came out with a much college functioning rechargeable battery I saw concluding night at Walmart- lasts twice equally long as their previous rechargeable which was decent. They also concur most of their charge upward to a yr vs. other basic rechargeable batteries that die over a few months of non-apply.

The camera is but really annoying..

I would similar to get one that uses a SD card, and so that way i tin just pop the SD card into my MBP or iMac. I hate breaking out the card reader or the bulky sony cable just to transfer pics.

Also, when taking photos with the Sony ( no matter what setting or light condition i am in ) it merely so slow..I will hitting the button and accept to stand still for a moment before it takes the pic...I now utilise my iPhone 4 all the time, because it takes a INSTANT photo, no waiting...I am not sure why the Sony does that??

Interesting that yours is so slow- mine is nice and quick- I have the aforementioned camera. I wonder if it is one of the settings or defective. Have you messed with the autofocus settings and such. Every one time and a while it responds a little deadening when there are many things shut and distant to focus on...just usually information technology is quite responsive. Much faster than my in-laws catechism and an olympus we bought for my school.

I concord a little of a pain to hook upward the cord, especially having the audio/video cable attached, but nice to only have one cable for either uploading or displaying on my HD Telly. I usually display the pics hooked direct upward to the Idiot box from the camera for the family to view the vacation pics.
